Turnkey Vegetation & network HEALTH Management DATA Service

Data Capture - Modeling - Presentation - Network Risk Status

liServices.png

We can provide all, or undertake post capture processes on your captured data or compliant satellite data.

Our analysis process fully supports distribution circuits and transmission circuits NERC Standard FAC-003-4 requirements for modeling potential encroachments and line-strike tree fall risks relating to worst cases conductor positions due to movement resulting from thermal and mechanical Loading.

The model below represents how we deliver vegetation life-cycle risk management. Contact us for details on our how our program can rapidly deliver the vegetation insight you need, and the detailed Trim Tags necessary to take action.

We also provide post-trim updates to the original point-cloud followed by a rerun of our risk analysis to include updates to network span risk status and reissue of span reports.

digital trim tag

  • Geo-located Trim tag

  • Distance referenced from the minor tower/pole

  • Trim financial and trim planning data included: Volumetric of area to be trimmed, and trunk size at 4.5 Ft.

  • Safety level of Trim Tag; Immediate, Within 1-year, etc.

  • Link to map location and directions to site.

  • Inclusion of 3D visuals to simplify trim isolation for attending crew.

  • Trim volume, Trunk size and site visuals to support operational trim planning by trim vendor.

  • Trim tag volumetric data provides an ability to assess vendor chargeback for reasonableness prior to payment.

Our MIMS system can assign and track each individual Trim-Tag as contractors perform the work giving geo-located and day-by-day views into progress against plan.  On-site completion in MIMS also verifies that the actual trim location matches with the tag geo-location.

In support of individual tree through life management, we can also support RFID tagging of trees at first visit and use of that RFID for future trim tasking and trimming results in MIMS.

span Specific sag & location Data reports

As a byproduct of the vegetation LIDAR scan, we can provide current span specific data reports relating to SAG, Swing and line direction, in addition to GEOID referenced altitudes of towers and conductors.

Getting the source data necessary

We can take any LIDAR scans for lines that you have available or work with you to capture or acquire new LIDAR data. There are numerous ways of capturing line corridor LIDAR for vegetation management. In many parts of the world compliant satellite data exists that can be used removing the time and cost of traditional airborne and ground LiDAR capture, where this is not available - helicopter capture is by far the fastest and least operationally challenged method. Where helicopters cannot be used, drones or various types or ground based LIDAR offer an alternative acceptable solution.

Concurrent capture of optical images provides an excellent source for enhanced colorization of the LIDAR point cloud to aid viewing of the results.

If you are unsure about what it takes to execute either helicopter or other forms of LIDAR capture, we can help you gain clarity.
